Entries for the 2025 EMPA Awards for Excellence in Emergency Communications are now open!

These prestigious awards are an excellent opportunity for organisations and individuals to be recognised for outstanding emergency communications, media and research in Australia over the past 12 months.

They celebrate best-practice and outstanding emergency communications work across six categories:

·      Readiness and resilience

·      Response

·      Recovery

·      Research

·      Media

·      Community engagement

This year also sees the introduction of a new ‘People’s Choice’ award, which will be selected by the delegates at the 2025 EMPA Conference, to be held 4-6 June at the Pullman Melbourne Albert Park. The awards will be presented at the Conference Dinner on Wednesday 4 June.

Entries for the awards close on Sunday 4 May at 5pm, so visit the EMPA website today to view the criteria for your category and submit your entry.

This year's conference programme is shaping up to be one of the best ever produced since EMPA’s formation nearly 20 years ago, with Joe Buffone, Deputy Coordinator-General, National Emergency Management Agency, world-renowned crisis communication AI expert Philippe Borremans and Churchill Fellowship recipient Anni Fordham as just three of the standout speakers on the programme.
