Glyn Walters

Glyn Walters is Marlborough District Council’s communications manager. In 2016 Glyn moved from Auckland to Marlborough, starting work there just two weeks before the Kaikōura 7.8 earthquake struck. He has since also worked on two storm recoveries in the Top of the South Island.

Glyn has worked in diverse roles in the UK, Italy, the Middle East and New Zealand, and for Auckland Council for 12 years, including as its Public Information Manager.

He holds degrees in Political Science and Spanish. He’s an EMPA Fellow and member of the New Zealand EMPA Conference Committee.

During the Covid lockdown he dusted off his vinyl records and is now a DJ specialising in grape-inspired grooves - ‘Vinyl in the Vines.’
