Nathan Maddock

Nathan Maddock communications career has spanned disaster resilience, emergency management and science since first joining the emergency management sector in late 2008 in the months prior to the Black Saturday bushfires in Victoria.

Nathan didn’t know what he was getting into then but like many, he has not been able to shake the bug. Nathan has extensive experience across crisis communication, media management, research and disaster resilience and has been involved with EMPA since 2011. Nathan enjoys building and strengthening the network of emergency communicators. Nathan was admitted as an EMPA Fellow in 2024.
