Sam Rossiter-Stead

Sam is Chief Communications Officer for Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission in Wellington, NZ. A former journalist, he has spent the past 20+ years working in senior communications roles in both the private and public sectors.

He specialises in issues management and crisis communications and has led the development of crisis management plans for major international events in the UK and New Zealand.

His experience in emergency management includes working as Group PIM for the Bay of Plenty region, an area where the risk of natural disaster is amongst the highest in the country.

Sam has been a strong supporter of EMPA since its expansion into New Zealand in 2014 and has been a member of the conference organising committee since 2019.
